Calcium stearate is a white, odorless, water-insoluble powder classified as the calcium salt of stearic acid. Due to its hydrophobicity and thermal stability, it is widely used as a lubricant, stabilizer, and anti-caking agent. In plastic and rubber manufacturing, it acts as a release agent and acid scavenger, improving processing efficiency. In cosmetics, it can be used as a flow aid in tablet formulations or a thickener in powders. It is also used in foods as an anti-caking additive (E470a) and in building materials (such as concrete) to impart water-repellent properties.
