Hollow glass microspheres are micron-sized, thin-walled spherical particles made of soda-lime borosilicate glass. They appear as a free-flowing white powder with a true density ranging from 0.12 to 0.65 g/cm³, significantly lighter than traditional mineral fillers.

These microspheres feature a hollow interior filled with inert gas or vacuum, giving them excellent buoyancy, low thermal conductivity, and high compressive strength. Depending on the grade, they can withstand pressures from 500 psi to over 10,000 psi, making them suitable for both surface and deep-sea applications.

As functional fillers, they are widely used in coatings, adhesives, plastics, composites, drilling fluids, and building materials. They reduce product weight by 15%-45%, improve thermal and acoustic insulation, and enhance dimensional stability by reducing shrinkage and warping.

Their spherical shape provides excellent flowability and allows high filler loading without significantly increasing viscosity. They are compatible with polyester, epoxy, polyurethane, and acrylic resins.
